Dental Implants

Dr. Bird’s dental practice is your one-stop clinic for dentla implants. Dental implants are one of the best options available for replacing one or more missing teeth. Implants replace both the tooth and root in order to restore stability, strength, and support to the jaw and mouth.

After taking 3-D images of your teeth for an accurate placement and outcome, the dental implants are placed surgically to either the upper or lower jawbone of the teeth. Once the implant is attached it will feel and look like your natural tooth and will restore and enhance your smile.

Dental Crowns

A Dental Crown is used to cover and protect a damaged or fractured tooth to improve strength and shape. Crowns can also enhance the appearance of a tooth and overall smile. Crowns are primarily used to prolong the life of the tooth by providing a full coverage restoration.

CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns

Blue Bird Dentistry uses some of the latest dental technology that includes our CEREC Same Day Crowns. We will first prepare the tooth, that will allow us to take a digital scan and prepare the crown from a 3D image. Then the image is sent to the CEREC milling unit where it is prepared with a block of ceramic that allows the crown to be both durable and beautiful.

Thanks to the CEREC Technology all of this can be done the same day and in one appointment. This allows you to save both time and money. If you would like to learn more about Same Day Dental Crowns please call.

Composite Fillings/Restorations

A filling is a way to restore a tooth that has been damaged by decay or fractured, back to its normal function. If you have a tooth that requires a filling, Dr. Bird will first remove the decayed tooth material, clean the affected area, and then fill the cleaned out cavity with a composite filling material. A filling helps prevent further decay by closing off any cracks or spaces where bacteria can enter.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a restoration used to replace a missing tooth/teeth. These non-removable additions will restore the function to your bite as it simultaneously fills the space between the teeth. In addition, our dental office offers esthetic metal free bridges for our patients.

Veneers are used to conceal a number of aesthetic problems associated with teeth. Dr. Bird uses a porcelain veneer material to effectively restore your beautiful radiant smile. Veneers can also help:

  • Perfect your smile cosmetically
  • Reshape crooked teeth
  • Restore color to teeth that have been discolored
  • Remove uneven or unwanted space between teeth

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is generally less uncomfortable. If you have any questions please give us a call.

Healthy teeth not only make us look and feel good, they make it possible to eat and speak properly and help our overall well being. Our hygienists help prevent new cavities and preserve teeth that have been restored.

At your regular check-ups with Dr. Bird, you will receive a dental cleaning. These extensive cleanings are different from your normal home routine of flossing and brushing. When you come in for your cleaning, we will:

  • Remove the plaque and stains, by polishing your teeth
  • Remove calculus that has formed from plaque to prevent bone loss
  • Remove the plaque that causes gum disease and inflammation.

Non-Surgical Gum Treatment

Non-Surgical Gum Treatment or Periodontal therapy is meant to protect the foundation around your teeth called the periodontium. When this foundation (periodontium) is compromised, it threatens the stability of the teeth just like the foundation of a house. To treat unhealthy periodontium, it may require a deep cleaning that involves anesthetic, local antibiotics and root planing.

CEREC (Same Day Dental Crowns)

CEREC Technology allows us to prepare teeth and fabricate crowns in one appointment. This will help save you both time and money. Say goodbye to the “gooey” impression material, the uncomfortable temporary crowns, and the two week wait to get your final crown.

After preparing the tooth, we take a digital scan of it. The CEREC software uses the scan to digital create a 3D image of your Crown. The picture is sent to the milling machine where a 3D printer makes your exact crown match in a matter of minutes. To learn more about this advanced technology give us a call.

Tooth Extraction

A dental extraction is a procedure to remove a tooth from your mouth. This may be necessary if the tooth is damaged beyond practical repair. There are several reasons for a tooth extraction, but some of the most common are severe tooth decay and infection, gum disease, and if a tooth is blocking another tooth from coming in.

What to expect:
When the tooth is extracted your dentist will administer an anesthetic to numb and reduce discomfort in that area. Throughout the tooth removal you will feel slight pressure that will not cause pain or discomfort. This procedure can be administered in a matter of minutes.

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Dentures are made to resemble your natural teeth so there should be no noticeable change to your appearance. In fact, dentures may even improve your smile!

More info: There are two types of dentures available, including partial and complete dentures. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, while complete dentures are used to completely replace all teeth.

Root Canals

When a tooth becomes infected due to bacteria or decay, a root canal may be necessary in order to keep the tooth. This treatment includes removal of the nerve and blood vessels of the root system in order to devitalize a tooth. Root canals are the best alternative to extracting an infected tooth.
